Do holiday amaryllis count? They bloom during icy cold winters outside in a nice warm spot in the house, offer lots of smiles and flower power. Hurray!

The plants that always bring color and easy care are prayer plant (Maranta leuconeura). It gets its common name from the fact that its leaves stay flat during the day and then fold up like praying hands at night. There are dozens of leaf designs .
