Now that the glue is holding...for a more permanent fix...I would used a mixed resin or boat patching material on the inside. Also using fiberglass screening with that. Big box stores sell kits, too.
I like boat products, the boat has to float or its a liability. Water and outdoor elements is what a boat is exposed to . That will keep the pieces in place even better with outside temperatures and watering. Extra resin can be pushed in the missing parts. You could try to paint to match or try painting something unique!
