From the side I discovered branching (apparently side branches of the inflorescence) and they were all infested with aphids. My experience with flowering Aeoniums on the patio is dismal, so I will be dispatching this one shortly. It's so not worth it. In the garden, there are predators. Here, it's like a never ending aphid buffet when most Aeoniums go to flower.
