There's 75 varieties of tradescantia

Aha, species of Tradescantia. I understand what you mean. Some other genera in the Commelinaceae family are more interesting to me, but Trad does seem to be the "gateway" genus to addiction. It starts with T. zebrina, moves into the heavier stuff like T. spathacea & pallida... and next thing you know you're chasing Tripogandra across the yard by the light of a full moon. ; )
Purple Scimitars (Tripogandra serrulata)

The past few yrs, this is my fav. non-hardy member of the family. It stays small & blooms a lot.
Striped Inch Plant (Callisia gentlei var. elegans)
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
