The ones that I put in pots and then in the ground; I first put in a layer of stone (actually broken up coral is what I think it is) to keep the drain hole from clogging; but I like your idea of the orchid pots Mike. I only want to do it that way till I'm satisfied with the caudex at which time I will just replant them in the ground minus pots. I now realize that I've made a BIG mistake in using plastic pots. Melissa made me remember about how easy these guys drown Sticking tongue out now that we are in our rainy season I think I'm going to lose a few plants. I guess I'll get a batch of clay pots and re-do what I thought I was finished with.
