gardenfish said:C a someone please explain to me about long day and short day onions? As y'all know, I'm a newbie to onions. So far all I've grown is those bulbs they sell in the spring. Last year they formed pretty good bottoms on them.

I was checking out this site yesterday. The first page gives a map and lays out the difference pretty well. I've never purchased or dealt with the grower in any way, so this is not a recommendation. I ran across the reference to them via a Texas A&M University agricultural webpage. I consider most of the TAMU info reliable as a resource.
