She can purchase a seedling and name it in honor of her kitty (as a garden name).
She can purchase an unnamed daylily from a hybridizer and have him/her register it in honor of her kitty (she needs to have the name OK'd and do a search of already registered names).
I have charged $150 for this while I know some others charge $300. (no I am not soliciting, just giving an approx cost if it were to be a registered daylily)
