I learned this the hard way a few years ago when we had heavy amounts of snow dumped on us over a 24 hour period. Many trees and bushes around town had broken branches or split. We had damage too but everything recovered. Now I am ready with the broom when I know heavy snow is headed our way.

Good tip for people to "star" for later reference.
