Desert Roses like it rather dry, I wait til the top of the soil is dry , then I water. They need air to their roots, so they won't rot. They also love the sum. I have one in a West windown and it is blooming. but it sit there all winter with a few leaves. then it started blooming. Here is a pic. sorry it is not better.
