My wife and I met Don at our first National convention and were lucky enough to sit at the same dinner table with him. We made it a point to talk to him at the two other conventions we have attended and also saw him at Lilyhemmer. We even stopped by his garden and visited with him and his lovely wife one Summer. His Early Beauty is one of the first daylilies to flower in my garden every year and his Wine and Lace puts on a beautiful show in July. He was a quiet and wonderful gentleman who will be sorely missed.
