I'm a huge fan of Ginny Pearce and her daylilies. I have so many, for a while, i think I had more of hers than she did. Smiling

Sailor Sky is a burst of late season color. So many blooms, almost every day for me. Sailor Sky starts mid July for me most years, and goes until Mid August, averaging a little over 4 weeks per my stats... seemed longer in my head. I'm definitely getting 28 inches on the mature scapes. In past years, I would get high teens/low 20's bloom count on the best scapes. I should have counted last year, I'm sure the scape front and center in that picture up there is doing close to or better than that. I get 8-12 on the smaller, first timer scapes. All told, I noted 125 blooms last year. Almost 5 blooms a day. You can't miss this one, especially in mid August when things may be dying down elsewhere in the daylily bed.

I haven't used Sailor Sky as a parent, yet, but I think I just got some late seedlings that are worthy just last year. One of Sailor Sky's kids is Gigglefest, another of Ginny's plants. Sailor Sky definitely passed on the late-blooming and lots-of-blooms-each-day genes to that one.
