I know what you mean about them. I always was intrigued by the plant & loved it's looks. And anything which grew well with little to no care down in the harsh conditions of zone 10 coastal Fl., in nothing but pure sand & full sun, was a welcome plant. We used to joke that the plant was a blessing b/c the flies stayed near it rather than trying to get in the house or bother people. Hilarious!
