Shorter swaps need higher starting ticket numbers than longer swaps. It looks like 8 was a good pick for this one. There's no way to get it perfect every time. I was in one swap where Dave helped the swap host up the ticket amount part way through, because she had under estimated due to a lot of seed offers being added just before the swap. Starting with too many tickets cannot be remedied, however.
