No. I have an oximeter here that I use occasionally. We bought one after my Mother came home after a bout with pneumonia and had to take some breathing temps. My understanding is that if the level goes down to 92 you should probably check in with your doctor and anywhere in the 80s you REALLY need to check. I learned with Mother when her readings got into the 80s once and alarmed us. The doctor's office was calm when we called and said to make sure her hands and fingers were warm because cold fingers cause a false reading. Her hands were cold and we set about getting them warm and the reading was then normal. I've tried that with myself when I had cold hands and the readings are uniformly low if my fingers are cold. At normal temperatures my readings are consistantly in the 96-99 range - where they should be. There are a number of causes for a low reading. It's a useful guide, just like blood pressure and temperature, but worth rechecking to check if the readings are odd once in a while.
