Our mail deliver here is sporadic at best. One day it will come at 10 in the morning and another it might be 8 at night. Living in Florida the mailboxes get hot. They are black and absorb heat easily. I can envision issues in places like FL, AZ and other areas where it gets so hot. People who work away from home might find their tests are broiling.

This might be the time to sign up for that service by the USPS that emails you a copy of what mail you are getting each day. That way one could watch out for the tests.
