Considering it rotted id say int cant be a lack of humidity that killed it. Lack of light maybe, but not humidity. You need to understand, tropicals, we usually keep indoors at all time(rarely outside). There are just some conditions I cannot control- the CnS can weather it out, but tropicals get what they get.
