Ever had one of these tradescantias Kaktus? Their colors are otherworldly. I used to have one but it didnt last. Its odd how I pull of mid-to-high difficulty cacti yet struggle with easy to moderate difficulty tropicals...

I've found this hard to keep alive long term. I've had it 3 times now. While it seems to well in the summer, outdoor months, it hasn't managed to survive the winter indoors. It reverted to a couple of green, purple backed growths and those are immensely easier and manage my winter growing conditions pretty well. So I've settled for the reverted plant. I think the variegated T. spathica would do well for @Kaktus with his natural outdoor growing conditions. It reverts readily, though, and the reverted growth is a much more vigorous grower and will crowd out the variegated if it's not removed.
