My aunt in Northridge, CA also has a beautiful staghorn specimen, it is hanging in a protected spot along with her orchid collection, covered by a mesh netting overhead since it gets way too hot and dry there too. I really like that one too, but seeing just how big it can grow and difficulty to water it, I am just sticking to other epiphytic plants. Smiling

She was also my inspiration in growing succulents, and gave me good succulent specimens when we finally got our own home in 2008. Thankfully some of the succulents are still alive here in my garden, have been propagating some thru the years.

The interview on that video gives a lot of growing info, the combination of lighting needs, watering and air circulation. Oftentimes, many new growers get so obsessed with watering, accidentally forgetting about the proper lighting needs as seasons change or providing adequate airflow around these type of plants. In a nutshell, it applies to many indoor plants as well. So to me the video is a rich information material. I only grow a handful of indoor plants, my main focus is mostly succulents and drought tolerant plants. Along the way, we lose plants..learning the hard way...but we learn as we go, and make the journey enjoyable too as we get to discover more plants more suitable to our growing environments. Big Grin
