I just now saw this thread, although I was aware of Larry's passing. I met Larry several years ago when I ordered some daylilies online from him and told him I'd pick them up in person (I don't live far away). What a wonderful meeting that was. I was delighted when he gave me a tour and explanation of his gardens and I met his lovely wife Wilma. I was blessed to meeting him several more times, enjoyed more tours, when I made sure I could pick up my daylilies in person and also spend a little time in the Amanas. He had a wonderful sense of story telling and sense of humor. My daughter and I were honored to see their "winter garden" that they hauled up their stairs to their bedroom every fall. It was truly an oasis.
