Thanks Gina I just looked up Xanthosoma robustum. It does look like my plant!
I find it interesting that it isn't a colocasia but it is similar and it is from South America instead of Asia.

I have a Jack's Giant elephant ear, but it isn't nearly as big yet and I think I prefer the xanthosoma.

I'm very glad to have a better idea of what it is, because I love this plant and my parents keep giving me big ones that their neighbor keeps throwing out.
