Different hoyas have their own blooming times....and many bloom when they just feel like it.
I had a huge compacta once and the only way I could get rid of the mealie bugs INSIDE the leaves was to dunk the whole blinking plant in a tub of mildly soapy water (something mild like Joy or Dove...NOT Ultras and NOT antibacterial). It worked like a charm. I use BATS systemic in my greenhouse which takes care of the brats!!!!
Closed plastic bags work for many to propagate...they don't work for me because of our relatively high humidity.
