The Salvia was planted in the ground and had achieved a a very nice size by June 1st. The Agapanthus were potted and placed behind the Salvia. Over time the Salvia had "enclosed" the Agapanthus with its foliage.
Had the Salvia bloomed the Agapanthus would have been accented by indigo blue blooms and lime green calyxes from the Salvia.
Unfortunately, within a period of one week, the Salvia died... and that combination will have to wait on a re-try.
That's too bad... I think I would have liked this combination.
