I don't think that there are critters around trying to eat seeds. Even if I wished no one would offer species tulip bulbs down here. So sowing is my only alternative even if I were to accept time before I see something coming out of the ground. I've not given up though... 
Since all of this is so unpredictable then my strategy is multiply my sowings of bulbs and other rg plants. At least something will make it. Then I'll be happy with what God provided and still thankful...
