the grafting tape i bought is off line. i have tried to use plastic but my baggies are to thin they will not stretch like needed to hold tight and my zip lock are to thick they dont stretch.

i have seen so many master grafters and they ALL use plastic. I have chatted with a few on FB and they tell me plastic is way to go. They say depends on your type of graft you can use rubber bands to hold the plastic in place. A lot of grafting that they show is flat graft with only 1/4-1/2 in of stem. they cut there root stock and use a small piece of stem from another plant (and they dont have to be same size) they cover over the top and down on main branch and tie with plastic but this is where you can use a rubber band. you remove as soon as you see leave formation on the stem piece.

I just had plumeria grafted by FCN and Luc uses rubber bands to hold the graft together. i dont even think he raps with tape or plastic looks like he leaves it breath. BUT his cuts are perfect fit size and angle to create a good seal. I might be ordering or going to a wholesaler that might carries grafting tape would you like me to get you some? the place i order from i have 4 times before they also have grafting wax. cant remember how much it is i can check and let you know if you like.

i cant say i have the answer for sure but those are different ways i have been told and seen but most important thing is be clean!! like an operating room!!
