I agree with what Mike had to say except I wouldn't bother planting the cut branches, I've done that twenty or thirty times, it's very easy and I ended up getting rid of all of them since I am interested in the caudex more then the flower and the cutting just don't get one unless you work hard at it lifting and replanting blah blah blah etc. Much more fun to plant and grow from seeds ( I think!)
