Weeds in the ground get away from me sometimes because ground plants can survive being ignored for weeks at a time, but pots need water more often so I would notice within a week if something sprouted in one. I get a lot of pecan sprouts from squirrels hiding nuts in pots, but not much else. I wish all of my "flower beds" were raised, like giant pots. Each gardener has their own personalized situation, preferences, and experiences.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.
