It sounds like you have to buy 3-4 different varieties to have the long bloom season. However, the other ones are that ugly, ratty foliage while they aren't blooming. I noticed the only photos people post of them are close-ups of single blooms. They don't look like that in my garden. I think foliage is very important. If a plant has ugly foliage, it needs to bloom a very long time.
