Would having your air ducts cleaned help with allergies? Possibly dust allergies if there is dust in there, but doubtful for pollen. I figured you would just change your air filter to a hepa-allergen filter. We change our filters out on the HVAC once a quarter. Pollen cannot get through. Takes 30 secs. Also, we have a Holmes plug-in air filter for the bedroom which runs every night while we sleep, as an additional layer of protection. Those Holmes HEPA allergen filters also get changed once a quarter.

Unfortunately, all that is for nothing if you open your windows as pollen will float in on the wind D'Oh!
But sometimes I cannot resist "fresh air", even knowing what it will do to me (plus I refuse to give up being in the garden).

I would be interested in hearing the advice of your allergen specialist.

We have a filter that DH says is as good as a hepa filter. I didn't look at it, so I don't know what it is. We've had it about a month. DH is balking about having the ducts cleaned. The allergist will probably have an opinion about how effective that is. I have had a blood test for allergies twice and they found nothing. I don't want to do that useless exercise again just to satisfy curiosity or whatever. I have a mandatory blood draw for something else next week and I need to save my one not-totally-crappy vein for that anyway. I never open the windows. Dust mites are certainly possible. This week I have not been tired, knock on wood, so that is an improvement.
