Sounds simular to me. I have a tall (over 4 foot) Sans. tri~ Laurentii. It was with me when I lived at home with my parents befor 1972. Repoted but only from one busted pot to another same size. This year I just repotted it. And knowing more about it's needs, changed the soil to a fast draining cactus mix. I had garden soil in it befor.
