Yeah, I grew it in zone 6b/7a in TN, lightly amended clay soil with a few hours of shade in summer. It was perennial, mine even set seed, which I've read is pretty unusual, but I didn't get any seedlings.
In the end, only kindness matters.

Science is not the answer, it is the question.
