I didn't make it to our orchid show here this year, so I don't know how everybody did. But I do know that prices I've seen at a couple of places are way higher than they used to be. This seems odd to me as I'm not sure the price of growing and marketing orchids has gone up too much for long-established growers.

I suppose potting supplies are more expensive now, and of course fuel to get to the shows and sales is higher as well. But the prices are higher than what would reflect those costs.

I'm just not buying any new ones right now. Growing and nurturing what I have and enjoying everyone else's beauties.
