ST, you let them go into dormancy, about mid to late August put them on a porch or lay the containers on their side to prevent them from getting moisture. The plant will start to go into dormancy and the leaves will start to fall down and turn brown. When it starts to turn cooler, place the containers in a dark cool spot for the winter. The leaves will dry up and you can remove them.
When the plant is in dormancy, you can transplant at this time.
