critterologist said: One other thing, if you get groundhogs going after your veggies.. people say sometimes they are looking for water, so putting a ground-level saucer or basin of water can keep them off your tomato plants. Personally, I don't believe it, because who doesn't love a good tomato? With the stink bugs and so forth, I've started picking tomatoes when they are just breaking color, and I let them finish ripening inside on the counter. If there are any cracks, put tape over them to keep out fruit flies.
