I have a bare spot in my lawn and want to to plant new grass in that space. What is the best soil type to use when planting new grass seed? I've read top soil or compost mix would be best. Wouldn't top soil just add more dirt to an already poor drainage area and make a mud pit and top soil more difficult to spread? Thank you.
