You can either leave it as is, or get an exacto knife and chop down to healthy "flesh", then dust the wound with cinnamon.

I would go ahead and start watering and feeding the plant, but I'd water only on the side of the pot away from that mess. Water half the pot is what I'm saying.

Photos sure make a difference!!! Keep us informed as to what happens in the next few months, OK?


So all those little nubs are where they were pruned before? I had wondered about that. I only pruned it this Spring, the limbs had gotten a bit long and there were no leaves, so I figured what the heck? Ok, so only water sparing, and on the side that hasn't any stress to the caudex (trunk)? I can do that. I will certainly keep you guys informed, thanks for your help!
