Speaking of poetry about roses, today I read this by William Shakespeare, it is not wicked or playful, but still its by Shakespeare:
O! How much more doth beauty beauteous seem
By that sweet ornament which truth doth give
The rose looks fair, but fairer we it deem
For that sweet odor which doth in it live.
Also as many mentioned the cultivar peace, It reminded of this:
if though canst get but thither
there grows the flower of peace
the rose that cannot whither
thy fortress and thy ease.
