Update on the "Stinkbug Nymph" infestation: I sprayed my magic potion (homemade insecticidal soap solution) and it worked wonders! This morning I noticed a few 'got-aways' but they were easily dispatched.
Noticed that the bugs were mainly focused on the tender newly formed pads of the opuntia and ignored the older, tougher parts of the plant.

I will remain vigilant for the next few weeks, but today is a positive sign that I can possibly win this fight. Fortunately the spraying wasn't needed on mature pads where the cochineal critters live. I like those because it's fun to show visiting grandkids the red dye they produce.
