That's too bad, Luka. On the other hand, maybe the one that is left has better genetics for more rot resistance.

Eric, that L. papilliferum is an original bulb from Chen Yi in China from 2006. Through all its years, it has done best in a freshly filled raised bed, of 2 parts compost, 1 part sand. I don't know how long it takes from seed. Something always happens when I do it - first time faded away (I think I was at fault), second time a mouse ate them over the third winter in pots.

They germinate quick and easy, IE at room temperature. Once germinated, the soil needs to stay quite dry.
