Hello, I see your post is from 2016. Was wondering if you found a solution. I'm looking for a Edward J Stevens holly also but no luck so far. But I would have the same questions as you. I would not expect a berry on a male holly. I surprised you got no response. I was told a Buford holly is a pollinator for Nellie Stevens but it also has berries. Kind of confusing to me.
