Not sure if ornamental alliums are different than edible ones for growing conditions. Onions and garlic in the south need short day varieties, lots of Nitrogen but grow great here. They grow otherwise in a lot of different soils, but need drainage for the bulbs. Do ornamental alliums come in short day varieties?
