My daughter is very allergic to poison ivy. When she was in college she got a terrible rash on her face. The dr was convinced she had been exposed to poison ivy, but we finally determined she had actually been exposed to the skin of a mango. She is not affected by the fruit itself but in peeling the fruit then touching her face she got those terrible blisters. From what we read at the time it is well known in Hawaii..
