We should probably come up with a sticky thread about seed starting, but here's the quick version.

Sow on top of fast draining soil (50% pumice/perlite/gritty equivalent) in clean pots. Do not cover with soil, maybe a thin layer of fine rock. Get the soil properly saturated, cover with clear plastic, seal with a rubber band. Put the pot where it can "see" the sun for hours a day if it will be indoors. Like a sunny southerly facing windowsill. The humidity inside will be approx. 100%.

Then after the seeds sprout, remove the plastic and very gradually reduce the watering from regular spritzing, soil usually moist at the surface, to the usual cycle of wet and dry soil that adults enjoy. The baby seedlings will not enjoy the soil going completely dry for a few months, maybe around the time they are the size of a fingernail they can handle this. But they do tolerate some drying out very early, around the time they have made their first true leaf. And you will have less growth of micro organisms if you wean them off the water relatively soon.
