I originally thought it was a truncata, but the picture was taken March of 2012 and it began blooming early Spring which leads me to believe it could be a S.opuntioides, not a S. truncata. I pulled three pieces of stem from the stock plant and took this picture

The smaller segment looks like an opuntiodes for sure, the other two look like a truncata except, the little points are up higher and seem to be different when compared to pieces of truncata. I am waiting to hear from cactiguide people for their opinion and I would also like to have you experts from ATP to comment and give your thoughts as to which you would think it is. Thank you.
