from bj iris today. i have 'centerline', thank you to jan. but there's only 1 rhizome left, and i enjoyed it so much when it bloomed, i wanted to ensure that it stayed around so it's a second, for insurance.
the first rhizome of 'pinkity' was sooooo, little it did not survive. it languished for years, and with the drought situation we've had in the previous years, 'p' just gave up and dried. the last straw was the replacement of our fences; workmen trod on my iris beds without thought or care.
i'm happy to grow them again, (fingers-crossed) in pots for the first few months…at least until february. hopefully they'll be established and i can transfer them to their place in the garden.
