If you are genuinely concerned: either pull back the edge about a foot or so, take shovel and make a bevelled ditch so your grass is fairly level with his but your rest will be higher, or: pull it back and just make a ditch with a hoe and stuff the end of your sod in it. In time you will not see the difference.
