I have deer all day everyday on my property. I have tried Milorganite but it is a short term solution. One rainfall and you reapply. I have been buying Bobbett deer spray. I have gone 2 weeks and they don't touch my daylilies and roses anymore. My neighbor said they are creatures of habit and walk the same path, graze the same areas etc...If you spray a new plant right away, they learn it's not good and learn to stay away. This has worked. I have been consistent. It says it will not wash away in rain. You can buy concentrate, which is cheaper, on Amazon.
After a hard long rain I may reapply just a little. I think a little spray once a week should keep them away. Goodluck!
