For control of insect pests, I would recommend a product specifically designed for that use, such as Safer's Insecticidal Soap. Neem Oil works well too.


I would second that, Safers is formulated specifically for plants, "regular" dishwashing liquids are all detergents as far as I know. Platinum Dawn does have some things in it that the ordinary Ultra Dawn does not, and it's supposedly much stronger concentration? Here are the ingredients I found listed:
