Have you tried the P-Touch Extra Strength Adhesive Labels with the P-Touch label maker? For the first plants we put in at this house (about six years ago), I also used the Avery Labels with my laser printer. But, a friend with a local gardening group told me about the P-Touch labels, and so I gave them a try. I liked them better because I could easily pop out just one label as each plant was added to the garden. I started using the P-Touch about five years ago, and I haven't had to replace a label yet, even in the rose garden with full sun and Louisiana heat/humidity. None have faded or even cracked.
