i got a box today from mariposa iris. i was very surprised and had not expecting my order this year. but, i am happily soaking them in a shallow dish of water overnight.

i was definitely not going to order any irises this year, but bought 2 replacements, 1 insurance, 4 new (2
@same variety) + a 2 rhizome bonus from one vendor, 2-(insurance) kind offers, and a bonus surprise from a generous nga-er for postage. a whopping total for not ordering this year of 12 rhizomes of which i have no room to house at the moment. ( except in a pot ghetto.) i will have to cull 12 from the garden!
there have been a few that have gone by attrition due to the drought, and some neglect. but, it will still be a difficult decision which ones will get the boot.
i will really have to go over my records carefully to scrutinize the under preforming and under whelming irises to cull.
