I have tried and failed at growing so many houseplants that now my only temptation would be a new Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema) with colorful variegated foliage. Three years of growing numerous cultivars of Aglaonema have convinced me that this is the best me-proof genus for my home. It grows happily under LED ceiling lights in rooms with only one window that is nowhere near some of these plants.
